 Brute Force Detection Lockout
Solution

If you are getting a BFD error, it is indicating that you have used the wrong username/password combination too many times. As a security precaution to prevent hackers from entering our network and your files, the BFD will only allow 5 wrong attemptsĀ before it locks you out for 15 minutes. If you try again before the 15 minute lockout, you'll only extend the time that you're locked out. If you can't get it right in 5 attempts we have to assume that you are trying to hack or break in to the system. Wait until theĀ 15 minute lockout period expires and try again but note that you'll only have 5 more attempts and then the lockout period will be extended to a full 2 weeks.

It is very important to have a good and strong password that is very difficult to hack. But it is equally important for you to remember your logins. As important as it is for you to lock the door to your home or car and then to have the key to unlock it.

Don't worry, if you're locked out all you have to do is to contact your hosting provider with a request to reset the lockout. You'll only need to show that you're the ligitimate owner of the account.
